The Club Hotel Motel in Roma had me,all they had to do was keep me.The most popular hotel in Roma with its Grazier/cattle buyer clientelle has a lot to offer in its large bars and bistro areas with very good meals to be had for a reasonable price.Sorry to say that in the bar areas the staff leave a lot to be desired as far as service and friendliness goes.As constant visitors to Roma on business we first came to the Club through a client who booked our accomodation there. As I said, they had us,all they had to do was keep us.The rooms are basic but comfortable however, after arriving late at night after a five hundred km drive, one would expect a little sleep in.The housemaids start talking,LOUDLY at around the 5.45 a.m. and doing what seems like some sort of folk dancing on the mezzanine floor of the upstairs verandah until you realise they are just delivering the breakfasts to the early risers.Suggest a ground floor next time.Ground floor makes it easier for the girls to hear each other as they scream out across the bitumen carpark with what happened in their lives the evening before. This is acceptable though as there is a cattle buyer standing next to the diesel ute he is warming up at 6 a.m. screaming into his mobile about where he will be going and the ins and outs of his particular business.Believe it or not we were willing to put up with all this just for the convienience of having the pub right next door but the straw that broke the camels back was when coming into Roma late one Sunday night after booking a room,we had a tyre blowout on the highway and rang to say we would be late.Unfortunately instead of leaving the key in the room for us,the manager went home instead leaving two grown men to sleep in a small truck in the middle of winter.Goodbye Club Hotel.
