while MacSwiggans isnt the best bar in the world,it is the restaurant that makes it brillant. the food is fantastic, its standards are up there and better than any four star hotel and the cost is expensive for a bar but not for the quality that you get, and is in general a lot cheaper than many other restaurants and hotels in galway. - Dan, galway

This is the only place I've ever gone to that you order a steak and it comes out by itself. Potatos, vegetables and salads have to be ordered as side dishes, so if you see a main course at a decent price on the menu, don't be fooled. It'll cost a lot more. The pub itself is nice and spacious. There is a dead tree going right thru' the different floors. The owner is self serving and rude and doesn't treat his staff very well. Tends to fill up with pretentious students saying Yadah, yadah, yadah. Nothing a lump hammer wouldn't cure.
