I too had a similar experience to Lisa from Waterford below.
I am a regular customer of the Long Island for the past 2 years and have often been in there in groups larger than 3 or 4 people. Last Saturday night I had 6 of my closest friends visiting from Dublin. Having told them all about the amazing apple mojitos we headed down at 8.30pm. No one had drink on them, they were all dressed amazingly. The bar inside was quite empty. When we approached the door we were just told "NO" point blank, we were not being allowed in. I was embarrassed if not shocked to hear this. Our regular bar tender was waving and smiling out the window at me. When I tried to reason with the bouncer I was told to go around to Soho for an Apple Mojito instead. So that's what I advise you to do. We were not offered a reason and he was incredibly rude. - Aisling, Cork Anonymous, Jul 22, 2008 |

I was there at the weekend and had a good time, the bouncers on Sat night were really friendly. The cocktails were lovely and the music was a bit different to what I normally like but it was sweet. great experience, will definitely go back there when I'm there next - Pops, Limerick

This is, by far, the best pub in Cork. They coctails are out of the world. Because they are done RIGHT. The bar staff are friendly, the music is kick ass and all and all, a great atmosphere. - Claire, Ireland
