We were in Kilkenny for a few days at the end of September and looking for some food on a quiet Monday evening when we called in here. There was practically no-one in the bar (it's a pretty big place). But the barman was very friendly (Australian I think) and it seemed to be a relaxed almost local feel. The bar itself is done in an old-fashioned but not theme style and is nice. Nothing spectacular but adds to the local feel. We had some Bulmers and food. The soup was excellent and we followed it with the Beef and Guinness casserole which I can highly recommend! We'd intended just the food and one pintr but must have got comfortable because we were still there a few hours later. Had to move seats when we spotted Father Ted on the telly at the far end of the bar. While we were watching it more people arrived and confirmed the local feeling as most seemed to know each other. In short we had a nice relaxed evening with good food and will go back the next time I'm in Kilkenny
