There was a great lie band on when we visited and the barman was really helpful in tellig us great places in West Cork to visit. Really friendly clientele as well. It was here where we were able too find out about our ancestors from Castletownbere and we had a truly memorable evening by the fire. Can't wait too come back - Joe and Mary Coughlan, Scotland

Was in here lucnh-time about a week ago. Nice spot that seemed to do a good trade in lunch. And the lunch was a step above the standard pub food. Not a carvery but a varied menu. The Seafood Chowder was very good as were the main courses. I'd stop here again for lunch.
Hard to judge the atmosphere from just a lunchtime stop but I'd guess it would a good unpretentious bar. Apart from a few posters on the wall I'm at a loss as to the Russia connection. Unless of course it's just the famous Skibberreen Eagle headline threatening to keep an eye on Russia! In summary..worth checking out for lunch...and I have a feeling it's a good spot in the evening as well.
