This is a gem of a bar.....it hasnt everything you want in an Irish pub...a good pint, banter with the bar-maid and you could spend an entire day looking around the palce theres so much history on its walls!!Friendly and lively atmosphere that isnt fake or manufactured. The owners run the place themselves and Moira's homemade soup is the best I've tasted!!I would definately recommend this pub as a place to enjoy a couple of hours if you are in Skibbereen

I visited this pub at the start of the summer with my wife and kids.Had never been in Skibbereen before but met some great people.....particularly in Cahalnes bar.Grreat pub and they do lovely grub at lunchtimes. We had a session there on a Sunday night with a big sing-song and everything. A special thanks to the owners and the barmaid Yvonne Browne who made us feel so welcome!!She remembered our names and tipples from the first night and went out of her way to tell us what there was to see and do in the area.....Plus she has a great pair of lungs as she proved that night in the sing-song!!Get her to give ye a bar if you're ever down that way - John Staunton, Ireland

A fantastic pub in the heart of skibbereen. Its customers are a rare blend of old and young and everyone is made to feel welcome both by the Cahalane family themselves and the staff. A good pint and extremely tasty lunch menu on offer-its obvious that the personal touch is what really makes this bar.Full of old time characters by day and great atmosphere by night, this was one of the nicest bars i'v had the pleasure of visiting in a long time
