Located at Hverfisgata, this Irish-themed bar definitely has the Celtic thing going on inside! But although the decor might be more \"authentic' than in the Dubliner, the atmosphere isn't really the same.
First of all the place was packed to the rafters when we were there and unfortunately those small nooks and crannies that were very quaint first become very claustrophobic all of a sudden.
Nonetheless it seems very popular so I might be too biased. Don't let my judgment influence you and check it out when you're in dire need for a pint of the Black Stuff! - Theo, Netherlands

The Celtic Cross is a nice Irish pub in the center of Reykjavik. It's done up pretty much as you would expect with lots of wood but, like The Dubliner (also in Reykjavik) and unlike most Irish Pubs around the world it's not a super pub that stretches for blocks. Instead it's a medium sized pub that, apart from the decoration, does not play up the Irishness to a cringe-inducing degree. The music on the night we were there was mixed from Leonard Cohen to Radiohead with the odd U2 thrown in. There appeared to be a good few regulars and all in all it was a good spot. Drink prices are standard for Reykjavik and the pints were as good as anywhere else. All in all it's a place that can be recommended for a good atmosphere that doesn't play too much on being Irish
