I've just spent the last three months in Rome and have tried out most of the Irish pubs there... This one is without a shadow of a doubt head and shoulders above the others. It's got something for everone. Good food, very friendly staff,Irish and modern music, all the sports you could ever dream of and a great athmosphere... (also hot chicks).

Walking into Scholars Lounge I noticed two things, firstly the Irish flag hanging above the door instead of the standard Guiness sign, and secondly the inebriated Irishmen drinking at the bar.

Scholars Lounge is one of the few Irish pubs in Rome that is actually owned and managed, by an Irishman. For an Expat looking for a place to drink in the evenings it's ideal.

But it would be ideal even without the large Expat scene. The walls are taken up by several televisions and three huge projector screens showing Live sports, the back of the bar is covered end to end in rare whiskeys, and the staff are friendly and fun.

After dark the pub fills with music and crowds of attractive young students, until it closes around 4am.
