The RatePubs.com toolbar is actually three toolbars in one. Switching between them is simple and gives you a number of options from detailed communication tools to the ability to search multiple search engines...

The Master Toolbar

A compact beast that gives easy access to all of RatePubs, whether you're interested in the community functions or the bars themselves. The ticker tells you if you have new messages or friends. You also have easy access to the three most popular webmail services.
We've also made it easy to search the three major search engines and RatePubs. And for good measure we've thrown in a pop-up blocker and a range of security tools that erase your cookies, clears your clipboard and even erases your recent documents list!

The Communication Toolbar

Switch to this toolbar if you need to keep in touch. It gives easy access to all the communication tools of RatePubs as well as putting your own email just an instant away.
From the toolbar itself you can read and reply to messages. Or send new ones. Make entries in your news (and set the privacy level for that entry).
If you come across an interesting page you can send the link directly to your friends. Or even invite other friends.
All without leaving whatever site you're on!

The Web Tools Bar

This is the tool for those who use the web for research. From here you can enter a search term once and then keep searching all the major engines...and some obscure ones! Because search engines return different results you often need to try a few to get the result you are looking for. With the RatePubs Toolbar you can now search them one after the other without going to their pages or re-entering your search term.
We've also included some links to other useful services such as Mapping and Translation tools.
Of course the higlighter and pop-up blockers are there, as well as a zoom-in and zoom-out button for any web page!

Common Tools
Certain tools are so valuable that we put them on all three toolbars...

Pop-ups are annoying. That's why we have included a pop-up blocker on all three toolbars. Any page you go to is automatically prevented from launching pop-ups. You will know this from the shade-wearing sun.
But sometimes you need to allow them from a certain site. Which is why we give you control over pop-ups on a site-by-site basis.
If you want to allow pop-ups from any particular site simply click the button and from then on pop-ups will be allowed on all visits to that site. Simply click it again to reset the action.
What could be easier?

If you have ever tried to find a word or phrase on a web page then the highlighter is for you...
Use this to identify every occurrence of a word on any web page. Simply enter the term you wish to find into the search box and click the highlight icon.
This will cause each occurrence to glow brightly.
You can highlight any term you have just searched for or, if you are already on the page, just type the word into the search box and highlight it instantly without searching.

The ticker keeps you up with all the news on RatePubs. It lets you know of new features as we introduce them (and we're constantly doing that). It also lets you see the latest bars that have been reviewed.
And it's personal too, letting you know if you have any new messages or if someone has requested you as a friend. We plan to introduce a customisable aspect to the ticker in the very near future, making it even more useful for you.

The RatePubs button is the heart of the toolbars.
Click on it to go directly to RatePubs.com, or use the arrow to get a menu of functions. These include;
- Switch between all three toolbars easily.
- Logout of RatePubs.com
- Check to see if there are any updates to the toolbar.
- Uninstall the toolbar.
